As some will know it was quite wet coming away from the Pie and Pint rally at the weekend. My windscreen wiper decided it wasn't going to wipe any more, and snaped off. luckely I was able to catch the blade and arm before they disapeared over the side of the screen. Not being able to see, I pulled into the next turning, a large driveway with a big gate going to someones house.
Four cable ties and one tent peg later. The wiper arm was reattached, sort of, and almost functioning.
Only problem was that the spring wasn't holding it against the screen very well, so it would lift in the wind above 30MPH. Still the water will stream off on its own above 50, so wiper on in the towns and vilages and off outside of them. That would have worked fine if a didn't come up behind a caravan doing 45MPH. I couldn't see a thing, but managed to find a turning to the right where I could get back up to 50 and see again.
Wiper arm now replaced with a shiny new one.
PS the Pie and the Pint were both very nice in the new pub that Jeff picked for the Friday night. And the rest of the Rally wasn't bad either.
stan: did you get details .

burlmeister: m looking for a replacement petrol tank. Does anyone produce them? Secondly, I need to replace the tyres. There is a sign in the car and in the handbook, only cross ply tyres to be fitted. No idea why this should be. Are cross ply tyres still available?

ady: For the petrol tank try looking up triggergas on ebay, he might be able to make you one. You can fit radial tyres, most people do. There is plenty of choice of tyre for it as they are the same size as a Mini. You can still get crossplys if you want
