hi Budgie895 and welcome to the site. always really difficult to value something from photographs as it will always be very subjective. what you can see looks nice but it not a lot in essence. more information would be good for prospective buyers. for example. where are you based ? whats needs doing to the body ? have you any history with the Bug ? interior ? sidescreens etc ? is your Bug (what is the reg) listed in the gallery ? the above will give us a better idea about your particular Bug and what it is potentially worth. hope this helps not the best time ever to sell a car with all that's going on
Hi, I live in South Derbyshire, If you want more info on the bug I can share this with you
Fully reconditioned 850 engine, This was done by Hans Kirrimaa from rebels racing engineering, brand new carb( not sure of model,Hans recommended it for the engine)pre engaged starter motor, alternator, clutch slave cylinder, original air filter housing blasted and powder coated silver reconditioned gear box and back axle, this was also done by Hans, back axle has also been powder coated, All new brake cylinders, master cylinders have been relined with stainless steel bores and replated New king pin bearing and A/frame bushes, new hand brake adjustors, hand brake actuator replated too look better than new,new hand brake cable( to the original style) new axle stabiliser bushes, I have had stabiliser bars strengthened so there no longer hollow fully adjustable avo shocks all round, All chassis parts have been blasted and powder coated new replica alloys and tyres, front steel wheel has been blasted and powder coated, new brake lines but not fitted, braided hoses to replace rubber flexi hose, I have the heater, works fine but casing will need blasting and powder coating All the interior is still as original, and if I say so excellent condition, drivers side looks like its got a very very minor blemish where it looks like a small screw driver has gone into it, but its barely noticeable, head rests excellent but could do with repadding I have the doors, but they have no clear plastic in them as they had yellowed over the years but the bottom doors are fine, and I would say perfectly useable with no rips, hockey sticks fine but need a lick of paint Canopy is good no cracks or damage and still aligns nice with the body work, canopy hinges and catch are good and working, body work is good but has a couple of cracks low down, (I think it fell into the middle of a transporter when it was being bought back from london) but these are cracks not holes, and would be a simple fix for a body shop, original boot flap still on the car window screen fine no scratches, rear screen also fine no scratches brand new alternator wiring loom from sparkrite, with all the add ons they offer, I have had an aluminium fuel tank made with stainless straps, petrol sender unit and float have been tested and work fine, 100 mph speedo brand new boomerang wing mirrors brand new indicator units, brand new wiper blade, to the original, original padded sports steering wheel ( cant remember the proper name) everything is there except the top screens, and a bit of body work and paint, car is on a K plate but not in the gallery, I purchased from a gentleman in London, and it had been sat in a garage since 1977,
hi as you can see from my post i am looking for one but i can easily see where you have spent that money looks great but i wouldnt want to insult you making a offer. i was after one how you probably found yours. if you do decide on a asking price send me a message, . best of luck anyway.
Hi Karl, I just hit a couple of problems, very minor like wrong ends on the brake lines, and although I had ordered a complete set of bolts from the spares scheme, I could never find the correct one for the panhard arm, I posted a couple of times but never really got an answer, so I pushed it back into the garage and My enthusiasm wained, Also found it hard to track down somebody to make the door flaps, local trimmer wanted bug dropping off so He could dry fit them, but I havn't got a trailer or tow bar,
Hi Mike, Yeh I know what you mean, bodyworks good to be honest, especially when you compare it to the 2 on ebay at the moment, Couple of cracks lower down on the body,Ive always thought that somebody else would probably drive it as it was, but I can’t I’m to fussy
tmallen: Just registered as I am looking to purchase a BB, I have one in particular that I am awaiting more information on. In the meantime, anyone got one for sale or know anyone who has, please send me details. Thanks

Kev: How easy is it to remove body from chassic?
Apr 23, 2020 18:37:51 GMT
ayrbugger: Kev, Open up forum and go to bond bug problems...there is a section re removal of body. You'll need three strong blokes or as I did a hoist and a support frame, and a strong beam in your garage to hang it all off.

V8 Bug: I owned bought a bug in 1972 and had 3 years of fun with it. Around that time I saw an article about a number of bugs that had been fitted with V8 engines for an Arab prince. I think this was done in Wales. Anyone know anything about these?
