All, thank you for your help regarding my canopy a few weeks ago.
This week it is going off to be cut open and have the steels all replaced. So why its away I thought I may look at some other small problems which have been bugging me.
Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a full set of rear axel oil seals plz, what are they call and are they off of any other type of car which I can look up.
Secondly where can I get hold of a new windscreen rubber from with the silver trim in it. Can anyone tell me what type or name it has so I can look it up. Is it the same as the mini?
And, sorry to go on, what are the correct size of the front head lights.
Any help on any of the above would be great plz.
Regards Dean.

agreed, Dave Hemsley is your first port of call. as for the canopy, what are you replacing the reinforcements with, mild steel, stainless steel ? front headlights are similar to allegro, hillman hunter, pre facelift mk1 capri etc (check sidelight fitting) as you suspect the windscreen seal is the same as a mini, the B.L one obviously i can't remember the name of it but if you look at east kent trim or aldridge trimmings website you will get it. good luck with the canopy repairs Dean

stainless will last longer but does the grp stick to it as well as mild steel ? i know owners drill extra holes in the stainless for the grp to grip better but would this weaken the stainless steel plates ? i know the mild steel plates have a tendency to rust once the damp gets in but most of them have probably lasted up to 50 years so haven't done badly. at the end of the day it's your canopy, your choice, i'm not advocating either
