Is the Bug Spares scheme a viable place to get spares from? I ask this question because I sent of a cheque to join the scheme back in mid June, which was cashed in July. I have had NO response at all. I emailed to see if my application had been received but no reply. I have emailed asking for a price on a particular item but no reply. i am starting the rebuild of my old Bug and will require many parts. Help.
The Bug Spares scheme is about the only place you will find a wide range of parts for your Bond Bug,as Stiffy has said it will be something simple,as its not a full time job for dave he is not always there, but do's try to answer Emails and calls promptly.
Hi You could try calling Dave on the phone. I run a business, and find that when I send people an email, they often don't get it - their apam filter has treated it as spam or something like that. So it could be that your emails have not been received. Dave will probably also see this post, so if you disclose your full name he may be able to tell whether he has had your emails. Some people may send a cheque to join the scheme, and then take months before they ever try to order parts, so there is no particular reason why it should have rung alarm bells with Dave that he had received an application to join the scheme and then not heard anything from you.
Chris we are about and very busy, apologies if I've not replied to anyone's e mails yet, Azzy is now working shifts so that only leaves me to do the spares orders, source stock, and do our residents group work for the local council and there are just not enough hours to do it all. We don't usually reply to new scheme members until they start to order parts as some take several months to get to the rebuilding stage, I'm always ready to offer advice and quote parts prices to e mails sent, however if you sent one more than a couple of months ago please resend. Cheers Dave n Dawn Bond Bug Spares Scheme
Thanks everyone for your answers, especially Dave. Good to know that Bond Bug Spares is the place for bits, and I need many. Will be in touch shortly. I am new to this rebuild job so there will be lots of questions to come.

Kev: How easy is it to remove body from chassic?
Apr 23, 2020 18:37:51 GMT
ayrbugger: Kev, Open up forum and go to bond bug problems...there is a section re removal of body. You'll need three strong blokes or as I did a hoist and a support frame, and a strong beam in your garage to hang it all off.

V8 Bug: I owned bought a bug in 1972 and had 3 years of fun with it. Around that time I saw an article about a number of bugs that had been fitted with V8 engines for an Arab prince. I think this was done in Wales. Anyone know anything about these?
