Apparently my new track rod end for a Bug is shorter than the original which was a couple of inches longer with an adjustable part. Most Bug owner have the one I bought but has any one converted a new one to match the original length. Does anyone know the car the adjustable ball joint end also fits on ?
Has anyone on the forum done this mod back to original ?

i have a feeling they were a standard size. I have bought rubbers from auto jumbles in the past that fit. I cant imagine reliant using a non standard version. good luck

The one that is a different length is from a different Reliant. If the stearing box is mounted at a different angle as in the Realto, a different length arm is needed. You should be able to get one the correct length for the Bug. If you want to make an adjustable one the parts are avalable from motorsport suppliers such as demon tweeks, as universal ball joints and links, but this shouldn't be needed.

Can't use other ball joints as they do not have the taper fit like the Bug.
