I am a member, not a guest I bought 2 Desmo 168 mirrors on eBay UK The passenger side mirror is fine The mounting threaded bolt on the driverside mirror is broken and the nut it seized on it' Any one have any idea where I can buy a new driver side mirror or the base parts to mount the one I have on the fender? Thanks in advance

Hi the mirrors are symmetrical so it makes no difference which side you need, I will have a look if I have a spare

Just a few weeks to late,
I only cleared out my garage about 2 weeks ago because it was becoming impossible to move around. However now everything is tidy I can't find a thing anymore.
I replaced the 2 Desmo's on my bug because the mirrors were shot and the chrome pitted. So I could have let you have a pair to make the best set you could out of them.
The trouble is when I go for it I'm a little ruthless and tend to bin anything which gets in my way.
I will have a look through all my tubs over the weekend to see if I kept them or did I in the mad tiding haze I was in consign them to the bin.
If I have them your more than welcome to them.

Hi George,
Your not coming up on the system as having joined? I know you joined the Bug Club but the forum is separate. You just need to come up with a user name and password and join up.. its all free and opens up the site to more content. If you get stuck im here.

Hi George, when you first open the Forum and get the page with the Club banner picture across the top, on the top right you should see a line that reads "Welcome Guest. Log in or Register". If you click on the word "Register" it will take you to a screen that asks for your email address, name and so on, and asks you to choose a user name and a password. A word of advice - you will need to enter the user name and password every time you log in to the Forum, and since you will be logging in very frequently (you won't ? Shame on you! ) then it makes sense to choose a very short name and a very short password. If you call yourself "Hello I'm George from across the Atlantic" I guarantee it will very soon seem not to be so funny !

You should be able to stay logged in so you don't need to keep entering your details. I never do :-)

You should be able to stay logged in so you don't need to keep entering your details. I never do :-) It is possible on Firefox (and maybe other browsers too) to set the browser to remember both your username AND your password. This is of course very convenient, but VERY risky - especially if you use the same password for more than one application or account. It is best security practice never to store any passwords on any device, especially with software such as Google and others linking all your devices together. In this situation if a hacker or virus penetrates just one of your devices it will get all of the others too long before you can manually jump in to isolate them. Similarly, if any one password is compromised on any one account, you risk all other accounts using that same password also being compromised.

George,
I very sorry but it looks like they went out with all the rest of the stuff I took down the tip.
The replacement ones I got did come from ebay, after a lot of hunting and checking that they were NOS.
If it helps at all, I think I found them by looking at mirrors for different makes of car.

Hi George, have you tried this place: minorpartsofoxford.co.uk/desmo-wing-mirror/Seems they not only offer the mirrors, but also component parts so best to give them a call or drop an email, explain exactly what's wrong or missing from what you already have and see if they can supply the rest. Good luck !
