Time I replaced this gearbox mount, as the rotted remains of the old one are bulging out. I see the dreaded n/a next to this item in the spares scheme catalogue. Is there a recommended replacement part for this?

These bushes have been unavailable for many years, however James Holland at CHG Classics has recently started manufacturing them so give him a try

Yes that’s the correct part, go careful fitting it as the aluminium casting on the end of the gearbox is quite thin, also the existing bush can be a bugger to remove if you burn out the rubber the insert a hacksaw blade through the bush then cut 2 slots opposite each other the bush will collapse and fall out do not cut into the aluminium

:sigh: One of those jobs, eh? I did change all the bushes on the rear end and ended up in various fights to the death. I'm persuading myself and taking a run up to a full body off restoration. I don't have any specific issues with the raggedy gearbox bush, just probable part of the parts pile for a proper restoration. The only thing that holds me back from this is that I like my weatherbeaten paintwork. I'm afraid that a prostine respray is just going to have me worrying all the time about scratches.
