Hi Can any one help rebuilding the chassis of 700 ES on the top of the rear suspension strut it locates on a stud mounted and welded into the top right and left of the chassis in the parts list this shows a step in the stud this i find is actually a split sleeve . Now in the strut top it also shows a bush /sleeve which I would expect is this actually correct ? that puts one sleeve on top of another as on this chassis it looks as it could be done with a bolt with the head cut off it is 1/2 inch UNF thread then sleeved with the split sleeve . The chassis is being 80 % remade using stainless steel the only existing parts i am using is the 2 front large tubes hope some one can help . Thanks Smithy

The long sleeve is slid onto the bolt welded to the chassis then the shock absorber may also have a sleeve so you could end up with a sleeve on a sleeve

Hi Thanks for reply , had a good look today I had left the struts on the axle to help check chassis width as the old chassis is well distorted the struts are adjustable coil overs I find they have not got the correct bushes in the struts any way the stud in the chassis has a short sleeve just long enough to fit the strut( does not show this in the original parts list) I am going to make up some nylon bushes for the top and bottom of the strut should sort it.
