Hi , In the process of rebuild of my Bug I have refitted the reconditioned dynamo , having fitted a 4 branch manifold I have inflicted a problem myself the large terminal is very near the one down pipe I have made a heat shield but I am concerned as it does not really cover the issue. Thinking of using a heat wrap on the offending pipe or making a more suitable heat shield any one found a better way round the issue its pretty tight. Regards Smithy

The heat wrap i find is a total waste of time. For one thing it dosen't seem to work plus the fibres its made from make you itch.
I did see Alan Millyard do a thing on one of his special bikes where he used a layer of the stuff you get in fake coal fires. You can heat it with a blow torch and it wont get hot. If you could get a layer of that on a heat shield it might work. Not sure what the stuff is called but fake coal is available on e bay.

Hi Thanks for the reply I did see that but had clean for got about it, I have put a slightly longer fan belt on and it seems to have made a big difference also got a exhaust shield off a toyota exhaust easy to cut and shape so will have a go at that. Really thought I would be past all the problems but they keep coming up . Regards Smithy
