Liz and I have been chatting this afternoon about the problems I have physically with my dodgy foot and leg. I'm having a few problems using my right foot in the bug. I've already had problems with my right foot/leg after Jeff Ellis's get together but have been using my left foot for braking. The main problem is I can't use my right foot properly on the accelerator and brake pedals. The accelerator pedal especially isn't wide enough and it puts excessive pressure on my already toe-less right foot. This then causes pain and cramps in my right leg. Later this month, I have an appointment to look at what the problem is, but if I need major surgery, I'm going to be out of action for several months. I am aiming for the National in September, but go fingers crossed !!
Depending on what my surgeon says in a Couple of weeks it looks like ownership may be coming to an end
Appointment this Friday. Fingers crossed ! Been playing football with my grandchilden in the garden today and my legs feel like lead !! Hopefully the bug is ready, but there's always something - the horn has packed up New horn on order and again, my fingers are definitely crosed.
Usual crap - give up my pipe smoking, cut down on alcohol, give up breathing etc or risk losing my leg at some stage Why is it everything I enjoy ? Seriously, been warned now !!!
I'm going to struggle a bit with the giving up smoking. The nurse was deadly serious enough to convince me to make a concerted effort though with warnings of heart attacks, hardening arteries and the possibility of losing my left leg.
I'll have the support of my dear wife Liz and also will have a controlled exercise regime to combat the excruciating pain of the cramp which I've been suffering from in my feet and legs. I'll also have to take medication to try and sort out these problems.
On another note, the new horn has arrived. Fit that then mot time
They've not told you to give up EVERYTHING you enjoy have they Chris ?(nudge nudge wink wink). Good luck with the quitting smoking. I used to work with a lady who had smoked 40 a day for over 40 years. She quit when they told her she was going to lose her foot if she didn't. It's amazing what motivation it gives you when somebody tells you that you are facing something so serious. And if it means you can keep driving the Bug - well what more motivation do you need ? Helen xx
Thanks my friends. It's certainly proving hard work this giving up this smoking business ! For someone who used to smoke 60 a day about 20 years ago, then 15 years on my faithful old pipe, I am getting there but it's hard.
If you have a question your better of starting a topic in the main forum.

mybug: Anyone know the whereabouts of PTO 365M? It was mine back in the early 80s and some pix have surfaced here (apparently from ebay around 5 years ago) so is it still around?

mybug: Searched and spooled through every image/video/old ad I can find on the internet, I'm thinking that PTO 365M is not around any more. May be resting in a shed, but given the small and tight-knit Bug community, I'd have thought that someone would know it.
