hi i bought a bond bug today and the owner said it doesnt start when its hot , what are the normal problems , its a 700cc

This is largely down to hot fuel in the float chamber. So can be improved by adding heat shielding between the exhaust manifold and the carb. An electric fuel pump helps as it supplies cooler fuel to the carb and will provide the pressure to push out any vapor lock you may get.
Without doing any of these the normal trick is to hold the throttle peddle all the way to the floor when hot. This normally gets them going.

If your Bug has a Zenith carb fitted a 5mm thick carb base gasket will also help alleviate the hot starting problem.Ady's suggestions are also recommended if the problem is still there after fitting the thicker gasket.
